Fridays hard day turned into a hard night and then a hard weekend. Leo clearly not himself and in a lot discomfort. At times he was falling asleep only to wake himself up with a hacking mucousy cough. No fun for him and hard for us to see.
We still managed to have a nice weekend together regardless. It was just a little slower and sleepier. The highlight of the weekend was seeing a potential new apartment. The place was great and ticked almost all the boxes. We will make an application and see what happens. There seems to be a long way to go with negotiating the way out of the current flat, but at least we know there are really good options out there.
Leo slept far better last night, but we were up into the small hours discussing the apartment situation. Its putting a lot of pressure on my partner, the process is complex and requires a German native speaker. I'm trying to do what I can but its almost impossible to help, she's having to do all the leg work. I really hope we can have a decision one way or another by the end of the week.
Leo and I enjoyed our normal Monday today with strange eating and sleeping times all caused by the 13:00 swimming.
Much the same at swimming, despite one couple being a little chaotic and ignoring all instructions. The rule is one baby and one adult in the pool. Then just follow the instructions. This couple were both in the water and seemed incapable of following the basic tasks. At one point they decided it was time their kid had their head dunked, despite the instructor saying it was a bad idea today. This made the child pretty upset and it screamed for half the session.
Plus, not for the first time, the mum kept having to hand over to the Dad because her little bikini top (totally impractical for baby swimming) kept getting pulled off by her kid. I found the whole thing pretty entertaining. The instructor did not.
I'm starting to speak a little more to the people in my class. It was interesting how much more sociable they were last week with Leo's Mum. They spoke to her way more than they've ever spoken to me. Obviously the language barrier is a contributor but I think gender also plays a part. When I asked what they talked about, it was simply baby comparing. How old? How heavy? What can it do? What does it? I guess I'm not missing much.
Very nice to have Leo almost back to 100%. He was much more of his normal happy self today.
